Buddy, Amy & Rita

With Rita's change of direction, it appears both Buddy and Amy could
be affected.

Has anyone heard anything from Amy?

Gayle is here with me in Shreveport. I had a wisdom tooth removed and she is helping out. We haven't heard anything either. Jeff has been trying to call.

Talking to Amy. She is not under mandatory evacuation, cameron parish is. She plans to stay at her home because it is almost impossible to get on highways now-everything is backed up. Will leave later in the evening if
the hurricane shifts closer to lafayette. I will call her again and keep you posted. She says buddy left at 7am this morning heading toward natchitoches but got routed somehow to I -10 so I think he is headed my way. Will call him too. Talk at you later.

Darren just called at 7:40 and he and buddy are in bastrop, texas, about 40 miles from my house. Given that they are traveling at about 35 miles an hour, I expect them here in an hour and 20 or 30 minutes. They are fine-just tired from too much time in the car. They left at 7am. Will email you all again when they arrive.Have not called amy again. Will check status of hurricane and call her later.

Buddy and darren have not arrived yet. They hit 5mph traffic just before the airport. I hope they will get here by 10:30. Will keep you posted.

Buddy and Darren walked in at 10:10 pm. Buddy looks very tired but they are fine. Evacuating from houston was a nightmare due to parking lot traffic on I-10. So we can rest easy about buddy and son and it is time to check on amy. Anyone heard anything?
